Safe Crisis Center
Prevention Educator
Mount Vernon
I am a Prevention Educator for SAFE, the rape crisis center in Southern Illinois. As an educator sexual abuse survivor, my role is to speak to institutional staff about grooming in a hope they will be able to better protect the children in their care. I also speak to students to help them recognize grooming behaviors so they will have the tools needed to protect themselves or their peers. I currently have a litigation against my school district and the teacher who abused me that is filed in Sangamon County. I am incredibly passionate about change being possible, accountability being essential and education being at the heart of it all. I am married to Mike, who is the Superintendent of Waltonville School District and have two grown boys, Jonny age 22 and Jacob age 20 as well as two stepdaughters, Addy age 15 and Emersyn age 22. My secondary passions are fitness, Duke Basketball and going to Disney.
